The
Garden State Dance Festival, a
nonprofit community performing arts organization, is under the direction of
Suzy Zucker. This extraordinary
celebration of dance will be held
April 25 & 26, 2008
at The Performance Garage, an intimate
performance venue in Philadelphia.
And again on
May 2nd & 3rd,
2008 at the majestic Collingswood Theatre, a
venue built at the turn of the century and located in South Jersey’s own
backyard.
The Garden State Dance Festival, now in
its eight year of bringing quality dance to the South Jersey region, boasts
a reputation as one of the most prestigious dance festivals in the state,
recognized for the collaboration between this region’s most talented dancers
and celebrated choreographers.
We are especially proud of our commitment and extensive efforts to reach out
to the schools, seniors and disadvantaged youth in our community so that
they may experience e the creative expression of dance at a level that is
certain to invigorate and enrich their lives.
The
Festival’s mission has always been to
provide aspiring dancers with an opportunity to work with local emerging
choreographers and the experience of performing with professional dance
companies. In addition to
presenting an eclectic mix of dance (ballet, modern, jazz, tap, hip hop, and
musical theater), the
Festival is committed to the infusion of
cultural diversity in the performing arts.
The contributions and influences from all over the globe promise to
enlighten and delight our festival goers with a heightened appreciation of
dance.
Local arts companies need the support of local and regional businesses in
order to thrive! Your
contribution will help to fund the expenses associated with staging this
extraordinary community/state dance festival.
We hope that you will join our efforts and become part of
the team of excited and enthusiastic local individuals and businesses
working to enhance the arts community in South Jersey.
